Suu Kyi urges ‘respect’ in constitutional tribunal standoff

Canada’s new Burmese embassy to have trade commissioner

Canada’s new embassy in Burma will have a full-time trade commissioner, 
officials said.
President Thein Sein, in meetings with Canadian Minister of International 
Trade Edward Fast on Monday, said that the two countries have opened 
a new chapter through high level visits and renewed bilateral ties.

Paddy fields spoiled by floods, but rice prices low

Rangoon (Mizzima) – After a vast swath of paddy fields in Irrawaddy, Pegu 
and Rangoon Regions were spoiled by floods in August, an official 
at the Myanmar Rice Industry Association (MRIA) said that they are selling
reserve rice to prevent higher prices.
